# Email inbox - how to display html emails?

How do I display emails in html format?
When i open an email I see the html option greyed out and only Plain Text and Raw will show the email.
Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing?

Hi @alanj, I reproduced this and verified it as a bug with our dev team. We now have a ticket to get this fixed.
What’s odd is that they initially used Mail Poet to test this and that leads to the HTML option working. However if you test html email with any other plugin it doesn’t work.

Interesting issue — I’ve also seen cases where the HTML view stayed disabled even though the email _should_ contain HTML. Seems like not all plugins generate a proper HTML version
