# Redirect to live site: even after changing url in wp-options

**Q: Detailed Description of the Problem**  
**A:** I changed the url in the wp-options file prior to downloading the live site from Kinsta. After the download and install completed, I tried to access the wp-admin login and it redirected to the live site.

I went back and edited the wp-options file again changing the url to the local one. When I try to visit the local site it too redirects to the live site, how do I fix this? Ive tried to install the adminer via temminal that failed as well. see screen shot.

If it is a plugin issue how do I disable the plugins within out getting into the dashboard. beyond just renaming the plugin folder?

Hi @Kayode_Brown, thanks for reaching out;

I can’t tell which plugin could be causing it but disabling the whole plugins folder or individual plugins would be easiest.

This could also be caused by a caching plugin, by the way.
