Adding new TXT record for domain

Hi all, I’m new to the group and not a developer. I’d like to verify my company’s LinkedIn account and am required to add a snippet of code to a new TXT record. I’m told it can be found on the DNS records page. How do I locate the DNS records page? Sorry for the novice question. I thought this would be an easy project, but I’m finding it perplexing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @PhoebeK :waving_hand:

Welcome to the Kinsta Community!

If your domain’s DNS is managed through Kinsta, you can log in to MyKinsta and go to DNS Management page. Select your domain, then click the “Add DNS Record” option. For detailed instructions on adding a TXT record in Kinsta DNS, please refer to our guide here.

Thanks so much. I finally figured it out. You have to click on the domain for the DNS records button to open. Such a simple thing, but it’s not mentioned in any of the many tutorials I found. I’m all set.

The DNS records page is usually inside the account where your domain name is managed, not necessarily LinkedIn. So first check where your company domain was bought or hosted, like GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Google Domains, Wix, Squarespace, or your web hosting provider.

Look for something called DNS, DNS Management, Zone Editor, or Manage DNS. From there you can add a new TXT record and paste the code LinkedIn gave you.

I had to learn the same thing while setting up my own PS2 emulator website, so I know it can feel confusing at first. Just be careful not to edit or delete existing records. Add a new TXT record only, save it, then wait a little while because DNS changes can take some time to show up.
