Docker won't start and warnings Docker.app will damage my computer

macOS Monterey
iMac Intel Core i7
DevKinsta 2.13.4

DevKinsta/Docker was working fine yesterday, but this morning on launching DevKinsta I’m getting “DK0004 Couldn’t start Docker. Please try to start Docker manually”.

Also get the alert popup "The application “Docker Decktop.app” can’t be opened.

And finally the alert ““Docker.app” will damage your computer. You should move it to the Bin.”, along with options to report malware to Apple.

Docker will not open manually, it just repeats the same alerts each time. Have restarted my workstation and no difference.

Feels like I need to delete and do a clean install but want to check first in case it can be avoided… also, unlikely I know, but is there any way to retrieve my databases before I to this?

Resolved. I deleted the Docker app, but not all of the associated files. Then downloaded a fresh install and voilà! I’m up and running again and all my data is intact

For me, reinstalling didn’t work. It says that the hash do not match and suspects of corruption. Installing with homebrew says that the developer is not verified

Hello Uriel

Can you tell me how are you installing Docker, what is your operating system and it’s version, and DevKinsta version you are using?

strange, I have the same issue, have been using docker for years, did not update in any recent months, and since yesterday I get this error

seems to be an active issue Reddit - Dive into anything

Hello @tom-it  Welcome to Kinsta Community!

Many thanks for posting this! I see developers are working on the issue and have provided a workaround in the thread.

Kind regards
