PC Crashed and sites disappeared

DevKinsta sites have disappeared on a PC crash and restart.

DevKinsta wants me to reimport sites and starting as if a first time use. Closed and restated docker and DevKinsta a few times. Checked all C drive and no view of the sites that were on WSL folder structure. WSL links no longer active. Cannot access anything. No view of the site on the local drive. New Main.log and old dont seem to give any details for me. Appreciate any signpost to diagnose the issue.

Tracked this issue to
When DevKinsta started this morning at 08:30, it ran a cleanSiteList function that explicitly deleted the site contents:

[08:30:56] [cleanSiteList] Update site list
[08:30:56] [cleanSiteList] Delete site contents
[08:30:56] [cleanSiteList] Delete site contents

This happened because config.json had "sites": [] — the local site registry was empty (likely corrupted after a Docker Desktop restart), so DevKinsta treated the existing folders as orphans and wiped them

I’m really sorry to hear that you’re experiencing such an issue. I have to say that I’m not aware of any similar case. It might be a WSL issue and It’s highly unlikely that there’s anything we can do but I would advise:

  • creating a system restore point in your Windows
  • checking for previous restore points to see if you can extract the data/sites
