PHP 8.4 on DevKinsta?

The documentation says that DevKinsta supports all PHP versions that Kinsta does. Kinsta added support for PHP 8.4 almost a year ago.

However, currently the latest PHP version one can select in DevKinsta is PHP 8.3.

Are there any plans to add PHP 8.4 to DevKinsta? Or any workarounds?

Hello @psymeons :waving_hand: Nice to hear from you again. It’s been a while.

The DevKinsta is still at this point in maintenance & security stage, our developers do have a backlog of things they will be working on in the future, however, at the moment we don’t have an ETA on when this will be available (PHP 8.4).

I have this same question for PHP 8.5
If the Kinsta engineers are backlogged is it possible to open DevKinsta to maintainers from this community under Kinsta guidance/merge control?

Hello @StephanieFuda :waving_hand:

We don’t have any immediate plans to open DevKinsta and we don’t have updates in regards to adding PHP versions yet, unfortunately.

We’ll announce it on the forum once the situation changes. :folded_hands:

Hello @Lara :waving_hand:

I’m afraid I don’t have an ETA to share at this point. DevKinsta is still being update from security & maintenance perspective only. We do have a backlog of tasks and requests we hope to get back to.

Kind regards!

I’d also like to see native PHP 8.5 support directly in DevKinsta to enable identical dev/staging/prod environments. While it would be possible to work around this using the FPM Docker container, it would be cumbersome. Is DevKinsta still actively maintained at all?

DevKinsta is currently in maintenance & security updates mode. I regrettably have no ETA to offer at this moment. We are taking note of the feedback we are getting and we thank you for your patience.

Kind regards!
