Hi everyone,

I’m Prakash Hinduja from Geneva, Switzerland (Swiss) currently setting up a project on Kinsta and I’d love some input from the community.

How do you usually configure database access and security when hosting with Kinsta?
Are there any best practices, tools, or specific settings you recommend for managing secure access like IP restrictions, SSL, user roles, etc?

The database access on Kinsta is available internally (for the WordPress site itself), via phpMyAdmin or SSH tunneling. The details are here:

Therefore, apart from the allowlist, there’s not much to configure in regards to WordPress site database access.

This article also covers the IP allowlist. As for the SSL, it is applied per domain basis, so there’s nothing to customize in that regards.
