I finally managed to configure something that appeared to work after several attempts across several years. Now I can’t get a local site set up; I’m encountering the same problem no matter whether I opt to build with WordPress, use my existing Kinsta site, or set up a custom site. Any help would save me a lot of time, stress, and money for my little tiny weenie site that is meant to make life easier, not make me work at 9 pm on my day off. I’ve tried restarting, I’ve tried deleting the containers and creating a brand new unrelated site, I’ve tried loading a download backup from Kinsta, same result each time. Has anyone successfully used DevKinsta? Would you trust it with a new build that’s taken you months? At the moment, I wouldn’t, but I desperately need to be able to. Also, I’ve discovered that the plugin Tutor LMS Pro doesn’t tell you that the individual plan won’t allow the usual Kinsta staging environment to count as part of the license, like most premium plugins, so I need a local site to work with, as I can use the license for that, apparently. I didn’t know until I was about to push to live, so I missed the 30-day money-back window. It was silly of me to assume they operated as standard, and they don’t say so on their website’s “Transparent Pricing” page. So any help for a tired, frustrated soul would be most appreciated.

Hello @AbsoluteReiki
You can send it in DM to me and I’ll share it internally so me and my colleagues can all view it and assist.

Hello @AbsoluteReiki ![]()
Thank you for providing the main.log file.
There seems to be an issue with the database password, logs state it’s missing or incorrect. It’s not the error log message we generally see, but please attempt the following.
This is a complex solution, so you will need to follow each step exactly (use command line instead of terminal since the solution was written for Mac users, but otherwise it should work.
Let me know if the issue persists afterwards ![]()
Seems an awful lot to do just to get the thing to work, and I have no idea how to use “command line”
Hello @AbsoluteReiki ![]()
I understand that it’s a complex solution and it does require some time and patience.
I will work on providing exact steps for Windows 11 later in the day, thank you for your patience ![]()
I got it by having ChatGPT translate the instructions to suit Windows, and it appears to work.
DevKinsta.txt (5.3 KB)
Thanks Tina I
That’s great thinking ![]()
To confirm, after following the steps, were you able to continue working with DevKinsta?
Yes i was able to create a new site and create from existing site, didnt try using the custom site option.
Tina
